I need a break!

Time flies and we are into May 2010 soon. This year has not been very good to me. A few things happening in my life now are what I least expect. When it hit me, I do not know what to say and what to do. I was shocked, confused, speechless and lost.

It is very much true as what Paulo Coelhe quotes:
“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”

I have been concentrate with my work, working, working and working in order to forget of what happening in my life until I feel that there is a limit for me. I am really exhausted lately. Both mentally and physically. Am I stressed out with work and my life? Am I in denial? What is happening to me now is really a big test and challenge in my life. I cannot run, I cannot hide, I need to accept the fact that it had happened and it became history of my life now. Forgetting is painful.... it is just not easy to forget!

What I really need now is I need a break.... yesssssssssss..... I need a break!!! I will fly to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow and go for holiday with my brother and his family. I just want to relax my mind, forget about all the frustrations and enjoy my holiday.

Change?

The process of change can be difficult for most of us, even if the habit we want to change appears simple. But, habits can be changed. New habits can be made. Old habits can be changed or broken.

Sometimes we just need to change our habits for good. Sometimes we just do not want to change.

I
address the way we think and the way we behave as a habit. The way we eat is a habit. The way we speak/talk is a habit. The way we dress is a habit. There are many things which are habits for some people. There is no harm to change our habits as long as we feel comfortable with the changes and most important we want to change!

What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted

This song was a hit single by Jimmy Ruffin in year 1966.

Read about Who is Jimmy Ruffin here.

Lyric: What Becomes Of the Broken Hearted

Ooo
As I walk this land of broken dreams
I have visions of many things
Happiness is just an illusion
Filled with sadness and confusion,
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Maybe.
The fruits of love grow all around
But for me they come a tumblin' down.
Every day heartaches grow a little stronger
I can't stand this pain much longer
I walk in shadows
Searching for light
Cold and alone
No comfort in sight,
Hoping and praying for someone who cares
Always moving but goin' nowhere
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Help me.
I'm searching though I don't succeed,
Someone's love, there's a growing need.
All is lost, there's no place for beginning,
All that's left is an unhappy ending.
Now what becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
I'll be searching everywhere
Just to find someone to care.
I'll be looking everyday
I know I've gotta find a way
Nothings gonna stop me now
I'll find a way somehow

This song was performed by Didi Benami, American Idol 2010. She has a great voice. Anyway, she had been voted out from the show. This is the studio version by Didi Benami.

"Eleven Hints for Life"

Got this from a friend today. I am sharing it here for us to ponder.

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Beauty tip: Expiration dates for beauty products

You know your makeup and skincare items won't last forever, but for how long are they good? Check out this guide by Marissa Fox

  • Anti-aging and acne treatments: Three months to a year. Antioxidants are easily oxidized, so be on the lookout for any changes in color.
  • Body lotion: Two to three years, particularly if it’s in a pump container.
  • Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel: About three years.
  • Bath oil: One year.
  • Sunscreen: Check the package for an expiration date.
  • Mascara and liquid eyeliner: Three to four months. Make sure you’re diligent about replacing these items to prevent contamination and infections.
  • Eye and lip pencils: Three to five years. Sharpen them before each use as a way to preserve them and keep them clean.
  • Lipstick and lip gloss: Two to three years.
  • Foundation: About two years. Most bottles are designed to last that long. And if you don’t use it, chances are you didn’t love it to begin with.
  • Perfume: About two years. To get more mileage out of a perfume, resist the temptation to display a pretty bottle on your vanity. Instead, stash it away in a cool, dark place.
  • Nail polish: One year.
  • Hairstyling products: Three to five years. Most are alcohol-based, which helps preserve the formula.
  • Bar soap: Up to three years.
  • Shaving cream: About two years.
  • Deodorant: Up to two years.
It is good to know that our beauty products cannot last for too long. I am having a habit of keeping the things that I love the most for many years especially the Perfume and Body Lotion.

Letting go....

Oh how you sparkle, and oh how you shine.

That flush on your cheeks is more than the wine.
And he must do something that I didn't do.

Whatever he's doing, it looks good on you. [Chorus:]
You look so good in love.

You want him, that's easy to see.
You look so good in love.

And I wish you still wanted me
-George Strait-

====================================

What hurts?

- Letting go a person you have learned to love
- Shielding your heart to love somebody
- Trying to hide what you really feel
- Loving a person too much
- Taking the risk to fall in love again
- Thinking of him/her every waking and sleeping moment but you know that he/she never thinks a single thought of you
- Letting go because everytime you see the person, you only fall deeply
- Falling in love with someone you did not mean to fall in love with
- Pretending you are okay when inside you are dying
- Or laying in bed each night thinking all of these

You can never find rest until you finally let go of the hatred that filling your heart. Stop hating the person who hurt you. It is time you forego the past and find mercy in your heart. Remember that nobody is perfect, because even the most cautious man stumbles upon the smallest stone. Go and find that which makes you happy.

Regret and sadness are passive feelings. The sooner you can identify and take an action the sooner you will begin to feel better about yourself.

Letting go is growing up. It is realising that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy to let go is to open a door, and to clear a path and to set yourself free... and
believing it is possible to love another again.

People come and go....

This is pretty interesting... People come into your life for a reason, a season or lifetime. Pay attention to what you read. After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason.
Here it goes:

When you know which one it is, you will know for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally and spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then without any wrong going on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say and do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realise is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because our turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace and make you laugh. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season!

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Trust

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

Love in words

You never knew

Another interesting story in my mailbox today. This is another long story about life that I want to share with you because You never knew what you get until..... it is gone. We have our parents, family, friends and loves one around us. We have love all around to make our life more beautiful and worth it! We should be thankful of all the love that being given to us, we should appreciate people who are very much closer to our heart and life, we should appreciate every moment in life. No matter what because when the moment comes to its' end.... there is nothing we can do to change the situation. We just cannot turn back the clock, it is gone............

Hope you will enjoy reading this story.

===============================
The story:
When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, " I’ve got something to tell you. " She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. " I want a divorce.. " I raised the topic calmly.

She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, " Why? "

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, " You are not a man!"

That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce.

She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that everyday for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning.. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife’s divorce conditions.. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd." No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce. " she said scornfully..

My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, " Daddy is holding mummy in his arms. "

His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; " Don’t tell our son about the divorce. " I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse.

I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time.. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn’t tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, " All my dresses have grown bigger. " I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, " Dad, it’s time to carry mum out. " To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind…I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, "
Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore. "

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead.. " Do you have a fever? " She said. I moved her hand off my head." Sorry, Dew, I said, I won’t divorce. "

My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.

===============================
Moral of the story:
The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy.
Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don’t share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up.

Tinggal Kenangan

Just love listening to this song, Tinggal Kenangan by Saleem after I watched "Jangan Tidur Lagi" (a talk show with their invited guests are mostly the Malaysian artists) on TV3 at 11.oopm on Wednesday, 7th April 2010. The program hosted by Saiful Apek and Saleem was one of the invited guests.

Note: This song was originally by Caramel, an Indonesian band.

Lyric: Tinggal Kenangan
Pernah Ada Rasa Cinta Antara Kita
Kini Tinggal Kenangan
Ingin ku Lupakan Semua Tentang Dirimu
Namun Tak Lagi Kan Seperti Dirimu
Oh Bintangku

Jauh Kau Pergi Meninggalkan Diriku
Di Sini aku Merindukan Dirimu oohhh
Kini ku Coba Mencari Penggantimu
Namun Tak Lagi Kan Seperti Dirimu
Oh Kekasih

Pernah Ada Rasa Cinta Antara Kita
Kini Tinggal Kenangan
Ingin ku Lupakan Semua Tentang Dirimu
Namun Tak Lagi Kan Seperti Dirimu
Oh Bintangku

Jauh Kau Pergi Meninggalkan Diriku
Di Sini aku Merindukan Dirimu oohhh
Kini ku Coba Mencari Penggantimu
Namun Tak Lagi Kan Seperti Dirimu
Oh Kekasih

Pernah Ada Rasa Cinta Antara Kita
Kini Tinggal Kenangan....

Kindness pays!

Got this stories forwarded to me today. It is good for us to ponder as it happens in our everyday life.

========================================
Story 1:
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he has only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank slowly, and then asked, "How much do I own you?" " You don't owe me anything." she replied "Mother has taught us never to accept payment for a kindness." He said "Then I thank you from my heart."

==========================================

Story 2:
Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt, stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown, he went to see her. He recognised her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save his life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.

She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally, she looked, and something caught her attention on the side as she read these words.........

"Paid in full with one glass of milk." (signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

**********************************************************

Moral of the story:
I've heard people say "What goes around....... comes around."
I believe it to be true.
It does not matter the size of the gift, or the deed............. what matters is the intent behind what you give.........
If you give of your heart it will always come back to you.... many times tenfold!!!

I believe it to be true!!!
